Dealing with Dental Anxiety and Fear
A large segment of the U.S. population suffers from some level of dental anxiety, thereby preventing many individuals from seeking routine dental care.
For patients with dental anxiety or dental phobia, our doctors recommend conscious sedation. We offer varying levels of relaxation for our patients, depending on their individual needs.
Mildly anxious patients may receive a prescription sedative, to be administered with or without nitrous oxide (commonly known as “laughing gas”).
For highly anxious patients, we offer IV (intravenous) sedation administered by our N.Y.S. licensed anesthesiologist. We believe it is important to have a separate doctor focus entirely on monitoring the patient’s vital signs and level of sedation during treatment, while the dental specialist concentrates entirely on the dental procedure.
Your comfort and safety is important to us.
